Man arrested over bombing

Bosnian police arrested one man and were hunting for a second suspect linked to a bomb attack that killed a policeman and injured several other people in the central town of Bugojno, a senior police official said yesterday.

In one of the most serious security incidents in the Balkan country since an ethnic war ended in 1995, an explosive device went off outside Bugojno's police station on Sunday morning.

The arrested man was identified as Haris Causevic. Police said they did not rule out local reports that he was part of the radical Sunni Muslim Wahhabi sect.

The sect has taken root in Bosnia in recent years under the influence of Islamic foreigners.
