Man arrested in connection with assault on woman

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged serious assault on a 38-year-old woman in Midlothian.

The incident happened around 11:30pm on Saturday 22 May in Muirfield Gardens, Loanhead.

The woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she is currently being treated for a serious head injury.

The 21-year-old man is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.
