Man arrested in Aberdeen sex attack inquiry

A man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a teenage girl in Aberdeen, police said.

Grampian Police said they have charged the 49-year-old following an alleged attack on a 15-year-old in the Torry area of the city on Monday.

The man is expected to appear from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Police said the girl was approached by a man in the area of Balnagask Road and Abbey Place around 10pm.

Detective Inspector Cammy Preston said: “We would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in this matter.

“Inquiries will continue over the coming days in the Torry area and I would like to reiterate our appeal for anyone who has information regarding this incident who has not yet come forward, to contact police as soon as possible”.
