Man appears in court charged with murder of Barry Gilgun at Leith Banana flats
Suspect faces murder charge over Leith weekend death
Jake MacKay made no plea when he appeared during a private petition hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
He faces charges of murder, possession of a bladed article, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The appearance follows the death of 35-year-old Barry Gilgun, who was found with serious injuries following a disturbance outside Cables Wynd House, known locally as the Banana flats, in Leith on Sunday.
Mr Gilgun was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he died a short time later.
MacKay, of Edinburgh, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is expected to appear in court again within eight days.
