Man admits sex attack on child at Clydebank supermarket

A MAN has admitted sexually assaulting a four-year-old boy in a supermarket toilet.

Christopher Morrison attacked the youngster at the busy Asda store in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, in September.

Morrison was caught after DNA linked him to the crime.

Prosecutor Bruce Erroch said the boy had been shopping with his mother and gran.

When he went to the toilet alone, Morrison approached him.

“He did not say anything, but he [Morrison] put his finger to his own mouth as if to be quiet,” Mr Erroch told the High Court in Glasgow.

The boy was indecently assaulted before Morrison was seen hurrying away from the scene.

The child then told his mother what had happened, saying “a man” had done something to him, the court heard.

She alerted staff, and police launched an appeal to find the attacker.

Morrison, of Elderslie, Renfrewshire, was arrested after his DNA was found on the boy.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to the sex attack in court yesterday.

Lord Bracadale remanded Morrison in custody and placed him on the sex offenders register.

He deferred sentencing until next month so background reports could be compiled.
