Man, 84, dies while out cycling

A PENSIONER died after taking ill while riding his bicycle along a main road.

The man, aged 84, became unwell at about 11am on Monday while riding his bike on the A77 at Bankfield roundabout in Ayr. He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The road was closed for about four hours. Police inquiries are continuing.
