A CHARITY calendar in East Lothian has raised thousands of pounds.

The 2012 Muirfield Riding Therapy calendar has raised £13,400 to support the charity’s work at its base near Gullane.

Jill Towers, chair of the calendar committee, said: “It’s been very hard work but ultimately worthwhile. We wanted to do something big and £13,400 is a massive amount to raise.

“Such success could not have come without a huge amount of support from the local community. Thanks are owed to financial backers, those who gave their time and retailers who kindly offered up space. The biggest thank you goes to the people of East Lothian who bought the calendar in droves.”
