Maggie stars in graduation

ACTRESS Maggie Cheung, is to receive an honorary degree at Edinburgh University today.

Cheung, who has appeared in more than 70 films, including In the Mood for Love and Hero, will receive a Doctor honoris causa at the McEwan Hall.

Raised in England and Hong Kong, Cheung started her film career in 1983 and is the first Asian actress to win a prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Also receiving a Doctor honoris causa at the same ceremony will be Professor John Thomas Casteen III, president of the University of Virginia.
