Macleod pipes his way to fourth title

GLASGOW’s Roddy Macleod was last night awarded the highest accolade in piping when he was named the Glenfiddich Piping Champion for the fourth time.

He beat nine other finalists in a play-off at Blair Castle as part of the competition’s 38th year. Stuart Liddel from Inverary came second, while Bearsden’s Willie McCallum followed in third.

Macleod said : “I am really delighted to have won, it’s my fourth time as winner so I wasn’t sure if I would ever have the privilege of gaining the trophy again.
