Mr Martin drove up from London, through Glasgow and on to Fort William, before returning south via Edinburgh and Newcastle.
He was hooked up to sensors which calculated his heart rate and stress levels and measured the car's vibrations.

Hide AdHowever, the M8 escaped the title of being named Britain's worst road overall in favour of the M1 in Sheffield, which had a combination of noise, congestion and stress.
James said traffic congestion was the biggest factor in making the M8 the most stressful road.
He said: "The traffic was really bad. The results weren't just down to what I thought, the heart rate and stress monitoring equipment showed that the M8 caused high stress levels."
