Lucky escape for driver as car flips over

A WOMAN had a lucky escape after the car she was driving flipped on to its side near a secondary school in the Capital.

The accident, involving a red Nissan Almera, took place on Duddingston Road, close to Portobello High School, at around 1.30pm yesterday.

The woman, who was treated at the scene for minor injuries, was cut from the vehicle by firefighters.

She did not require hospital treatment.

It is thought that the car struck a bollard before rolling on to its side.
