A DRIVER and his dog had a lucky escape after the car they were travelling in overturned.

The male motorist, 33, and his pet were able to walk away unscathed despite the front of the silver Alfa Romeo’s roof being left crushed.

The incident took place yesterday at around 2pm in the Capital’s Craighall Road.

City council employee Walter Cunningham, 46, who was working near the scene of the accident, said: “We heard a bang. We looked round and the car was on its roof.

“I thought a dog had run out in front of him, but it was his dog that had got out of the car.”
