Love is in the air as Capital voted most romantic city

THE Capital has been voted the most romantic city in the UK, according to a new survey.

Edinburgh received 37 per cent of votes, ahead of rival cities like London and Glasgow. Meanwhile, Birmingham didn't get a single vote in the survey of more than 2000 people.

The research – backed by food company Dolmio – also revealed people are turning their back on Valentine's Day, with 32 per cent saying they would stay at home.

Relationship expert Dr Pam Spurr said: "People feel uncomfortable with the false atmosphere on Valentine's Day."
