Lothians hold benefits talks

A CONFERENCE to prepare people in West Lothian for the changes to the welfare benefit system has been set up.

Welfare Reform: Let’s Get Ready takes place at Howden Park Centre, Livingston, on Tuesday, September 25, from 9am to 1pm.

It will focus on the impact of the Welfare Reform Act 2012 and the action being taken in the public and voluntary sector, and offer advice to people affected.

Executive councillor for social policy Danny Logue said: “There’s no doubt that the Welfare Reform Bill will have a huge impact on the benefits system, and it’s vital that West Lothian is prepared for it.”
