Lothians GPs' film is reeled out by BMA

A FILM celebrating the work of GPs across the Lothians has been produced.

The documentary, created by the British Medical Association (BMA) in Scotland to mark General Practice Week, features a day in the life of a Scots doctor.

Dalkeith GP Dr Dean Marshall, chairman of the BMA's Scottish GP committee, said: "Every year in Scotland, more than 21 million patient consultations take place in GP practices with a team of highly skilled individuals.

"For most patients, this is their first and only point of contact in the NHS system.

"I hope that we can use this film to raise awareness of the work of GPs and their teams, reflecting their place at the heart of communities across the country."
