Lost property on buses to go to charity

LOST property left on the city's buses is set to be donated to charity shops under a new partnership between Lothian Buses and Save the Children.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that breast implants, a 2ft stuffed seagull and a robotic talking monkey had been among the more unusual items left on city buses.

Now items which are not claimed within a month are to be donated to one of three charity shops run by Save the Children.

Gary-Lee Rushforth, Save the Children's retail projects manager, said: "It's fantastic that Lothian Buses have agreed to work with us in this way.

"Filling our shops with good quality stock is so important in generating funds for our work and we hope that this partnership will give us a regularly supply.

"We're looking forward to digging through the unusual items that people forget and giving them a new home."
