Lorry kills elderly woman pedestrian

AN ELDERLY pedestrian died yesterday after being struck by a lorry in Inverness.

The accident happened about 9:50am as the woman was walking on Ross Avenue at its junction with Fairfield Road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from Northern Constabulary's road policing unit are investigating and the force has appealed for witnesses.
