Lord Provost ill

THE coalition leading the city was today set to face a minority position at full council for the first time since taking power.

Lord Provost George Grubb is said to have been ill and has been advised to take time off work to rest.

The 75-year-old's condition is not thought to be serious. He is expected to return to work on Monday, meaning he is unlikely to miss the crucial budget-setting meeting in the City Chambers next Thursday.
