London gets pupils' votes

PUPILS from Edinburgh's Royal Blind School found out about democracy in action when they made a ground-breaking trip to the Houses of Parliament.

Jamie Fitchie, Emily McCulloch and Sinead Bradley headed to London to find out more about how the political system works as part of their modern studies course. They are the first pupils from the school to visit Westminster.

They attended debates in both the House of Lords and House of Commons.

Deputy headteacher Carrie Manion said: "It was a great experience and they were all really excited."
