Lochhead at festival slam

THE line-up has been announced for the BBC Poetry Slam at the Edinburgh Fringe – and it includes Scottish Makar Liz Lochhead in her first ever Slam competition.

Other highlights include last year’s BBC Slam Champion, Catherine Brogan, Aisle 16’s Ross Sutherland and a special guest appearance from the 2012 World Slam Poetry Champion, Harry Baker.

A total of 24 of the best performance poets in the UK – 12 women and 12 men – will compete for the BBC Poetry Slam title next month.

The event will take place over five nights at the BBC’s Potterrow venue, and will be hosted by former Scottish Slam Champion, Young Dawkins.
