A NEW performing arts group has launched in Edinburgh to help aspiring performers in the Capital perfect their talents.

The Scottish Collective of Acting, Music and Performance (SCAMP) is made up of professional teachers who are dedicated to providing individual and group lessons in singing, acting, dance, music theory and instrument performance.

Teuchters Bar and the famous Oxford Bar are among a handful of pubs to have their names added to a huge replica Famous Grouse statue by the renowned Scottish artist Johanna Basford.

NHS summit attracts child care experts

HUNDREDS of experts from across the world gathered to advise NHS Lothian on child protection.

The annual conference, which helps form the health board's policy on the issue, was attended by more than 350 delegates.

Chief executive James Barbour said the summit at Edinburgh Napier University would be a useful guide.

Steve to play along with poet's Fringe debut

EDINBURGH poet Young Dawkins has announced that saxophonist Steve Kettley of Salsa Celtica will join him for his solo PBH Free Fringe debut.

Dawkins' show, What I Know About Women So Far, will run for nine days at The Royal Oak, as part of the Spoken Word section of the PBH Free Fringe.

Kettley, who has recently returned from playing a Spanish festival with Salsa Celtica, will join Dawkins for a section of his show on all dates except August 15 and 22.
