Shoppers at Waterstone's Ocean Terminal are to be entertained with a "Great Where's Wally Hunt" on April 23.

The event is based on the children's book series and will see someone dressed as Wally hiding in the shopping centre, with prizes for those who spot him.

A HUSTINGS meeting will take place in the Capital ahead of next month's Holyrood elections.

Balerno, Currie and Juniper Green Community Councils will hold the hustings in Juniper Green Parish Church on May 3 at 7.30pm.

Dance along to behind-the-scenes peek at ballet

There will be a chance to find out more about the life of a ballet dancer at an event at the National Library of Scotland on April 21.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a live broadcast from backstage at the Festival Theatre, where dancers will be preparing for a performance of Scottish Ballet's Alice.

Make a mint at museum's workshops

CHILDREN will get the chance to strike their own coins during workshops in the Bank of Scotland's museum.

The Museum on the Mound is offering all visitors the opportunity to strike a replica medieval Scottish coin, which will be theirs to keep.

The sessions include a number of hands-on workshops and will run every afternoon from 2.30-4pm from April 12 to May 2, with the exception of April 18.

Artwork put in spotlight

A DISCUSSION about An Allegory of Abundance and Peace, a rare painting by Agostino Carracci, is to be held in Edinburgh.

On April 15, Aidan Weston-Lewis, chief curator of Italian and Spanish Art, will explore the allegorical meaning of the painting at the National Gallery at 12.45pm.

Jamie to play to city crowd in live link-up

EDINBURGH audiences are being given the chance to see a live performance by jazz pianist Jamie Cullum at this year's Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

His performance will be screened live via satellite at the Cameo cinema on May 1 at 8.30pm. He will be performing new unheard material alongside some classics from his bestselling albums, and communicating with fans across the country.

The one-off screening has been organised as he is not touring the UK this year.
