Leith seafood restaurant is a real catch

A LEITH seafood restaurant has been put up for sale.

Skipper's restaurant, which has been based at Dock Place for nearly 30 years, has been put on the market as either a rental or sale opportunity.

Blair Morrison, of Graham & Sibbald's licensed trade department, which is representing Skipper's, said: "The restaurant is extremely well known throughout Edinburgh and beyond."

Graduates fail to cash in on financial jobs

RESEARCH by an Edinburgh organisation that represents some of the world's biggest financial investment companies suggests there is a growing problem of graduates ill-equipped to work in the sector.

Scottish Investment Operations (SIO) last year introduced a professional qualification in an effort to plug the gap. A distance learning version is to be made available to investment industry professionals. SIO is seeking closer co-operation with Scottish universities.

Close call for spooky duo

TWO spooky characters at The Real Mary King's Close are battling it out to see who is the public's favourite.

Agnes Chambers and Stephen Boyd have made a video on the attraction's Facebook page. Whoever gets the most views and people to book a visit online will be the most popular character.

Storytelling class is worth reading up on

AN introduction to storytelling workshop will take place in the city on Saturday.

Starting with Stories will be held at the Scottish Storytelling Centre from 10am to 1pm.

Led by Fergus McNicol, it will provide tips for telling, remembering and imagining.

People attending the workshop will be told how to make the most of their natural storytelling skills.
