The health board said several factors, including a backlog of pupils due to December's bad weather, had caused the cancellations.

Corner shops agree healthy eating link-up

SCORES of corner shops across the Lothians have linked up with the Scottish Government to make healthy food more accessible.

Healthy foods will be promoted in a bid to make them appealing to customers who would otherwise pass them by. It will also target alcohol consumption, with messages printed to customers reminding them to keep drinking levels down.

Other public health topics like breastfeeding and stopping smoking will be communicated under the scheme.
