Litterbugs told to love West Lothian

WEST Lothian residents are being urged to help look after the environment.

A new environmental campaign, which runs until September 30, has been launched to target people who litter and drop chewing gum, allow their dogs to mess on the street, and fly-tip their rubbish.

The message is "Stop creating a mess and love West Lothian".

West Lothian Council's environmental champion ECO2 helped to launch the campaign with executive councillor for the environment Robert De Bold, operational staff and the council's dog warden.

Cleaning up the mess costs the council 2.7 million each year. Mr De Bold said: "We are asking everyone to love West Lothian and get behind this campaign."
