Linda Fabiani to lead scrutiny of devolution reforms

A FORMER SNP minister is likely to lead the Holyrood committee which will scrutinise proposed changes to devolution.

Former external affairs minister Linda Fabiani will be nominated by the party and is likely to be appointed to convene the committee looking at the Scotland Bill. Ms Fabiani criticised the committee in March, saying it had not been "devolution's finest hours" in light of repeated leaks alongside public comments from the committee's supposed independent advisers.

Parliament will vote today on establishing the 11-member committee and a date will be set for its first meeting.
