Light is shed on museums

VISITORS to two East Lothian museums will be plunged into darkness to give them a "new perspective" on the displays.

John Muir's Birthplace in Dunbar and Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum will both open at night as part of the Lights Out, Doors Open programme. Lighting will be limited, with visitors exploring the buildings by torchlight.

John Muir's Birthplace is open tonight from 7pm-8.30pm, while visitors to Prestongrange can take a moonlit tour tomorrow, from 7pm. Both events are free. Visitors are asked to bring torches.
