Library yobs turn new leaf

POLICE say they have put a stop to antisocial behaviour at Muirhouse Library – and are now consulting the youths responsible on its renovation.

Police were called out dozens of times to stop about 12 youths aged between eight and 16 causing trouble at the library between last November and March. But police said that after a new initiative there have been no call-outs since April.

Officers visited the youths' schools and their parents and then asked for their input on renovation works.
