LGBT role models share views

FIGURES from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT) have shared their experiences at a conference at Edinburgh’s Telford College.

The conference was organised by the college and the student union to celebrate the launch of its LGBT Society and the first LGBT video produced by a further education institution in Scotland.

Role Models, which was the theme of the conference, included talks from guest speakers, who shared their personal experiences to raise awareness about issues facing the young LGBT community.

Telford’s head of external liaison, Barbara Lawson, said: “This was a major milestone in the college’s history with the launch of our LGBT Society, as well as the first showing of our self-produced It Gets Better video.”
