LGBT centre launches job search in city

THE LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Centre for Health and Wellbeing is recruiting for two new full-time jobs and for volunteers.

The centre is expanding its mental health and wellbeing programme and is looking for a project manager and assistant.

Bosses are also on the look out for new volunteers with some "exciting" new roles available.

These include a vacancy for an events assistant to work on creating, planning and running events from sports days to Pride banner making, a drop-in assistant to help with the regular evening drop-in service, working with the promotion team creating and distribute publicity materials, and an LGBT age volunteer, providing friendship and social support for LGBT people aged over 50.

The centre's next volunteer induction day is on Thursday, September 9 between 6 and 9pm.

A spokesman said: "All these roles offer a fantastic opportunity for you to gain new experiences and skills, meet new people and help the local LGBT community.
