Leisure park fundraising makes £3000

MORE than £3000 has been raised for Help for Heroes, Erskine Hospital and the Teenage Cancer Trust at a fundraising day at Thurston Manor, East Lothian.

The leisure park near Dunbar organised a mini dog show, falconry display and performances by the Cockenzie and Port Seton Royal British Legion Pipe Band. Visitors to the event, who included those staying at the park and those visiting for the day, enjoyed side shows, live music and a tug-of-war.

Organiser and Thurston Manor park manager George Hope said: "We are delighted to have raised so much money and we still have a number of fundraisers on the go that should bring our total to around 5000. These are worthwhile causes and it was heartening that so many of our customers, both visitors and holiday home owners, supported our efforts. It was a great day and the excellent weather contributed to a fantastic atmosphere."
