Legion outbreak: worst appears over

The number of confirmed cases of Legionnaires’ disease has risen, but the worst of the outbreak appears to be over, health chiefs said.

Statistics last night said there were two new confirmed cases of the disease, taking the total to 41. They were both previously classed as “suspected” and the number of suspected cases has therefore dropped from 49 yesterday to 47.
