Leaner Steve Jobs is back on the job with iCloud

A THIN Steve Jobs strode back into the spotlight yesterday to unveil the iCloud, a music-streaming service the company hopes will power its next stage of growth and popularise web-based consumer services.

Mr Jobs' decision to appear at the event is likely to hearten investors worried about his health after the pancreatic cancer survivor went on his third bout of sick leave in January for an undisclosed condition.

He received a standing ovation from 5,000 Apple faithful at its Worldwide Developers' Conference in San Francisco, making a few comments. Apple shares were up 0.3 per cent following the latest appearance by Mr Jobs, whose appearance is much changed from 2001, right. He emerged from sick leave to unveil the iCloud, which lets users access their music and data from any Apple device.
