Law firm's donations help low-income homemakers

A LAW firm is supporting an Edinburgh firm that helps people on low incomes who rent their homes.

HBJ Gateley Wareing has donated furniture, furnishings and white goods to the new Midlothian Advice and Resource Centre, which is run by Castle Rock Housing Association (Marc2) to support people on low incomes who are starting tenancies.

Marc2 recently opened a store in Craigmillar selling recycled items and relies on donations from the public to keep the shop running.

Susan McDonald, senior associate at HBJ Gateley Wareing, said: "This was an amazing effort by our Edinburgh office, and it is great to know that these basic household items will prove of such use to those looking to get the best possible start. Many of us take having household items such as furniture for granted, but for the people we have helped through this initiative our donations are vitally needed."
