Latest move in gaming to launch in city

A NEW computer game that allows you to score a winning cup final goal without leaving your own home is set to be launched in Edinburgh.

Xbox is set to launch Kinect Football, which uses sensors to detect foot movements, at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival at the Filmhouse tonight.

Rare's Studios Kinect development director, Nick Burton, will demonstrate Kinect Football alongside the track and field and bowling games available on Kinect Sports, as well as provide insight into how these games were developed.

Tomorrow Xbox Live EMEA's general manager, Jerry Johnson, will be talking about social gaming experiences as well as Kinect and Microsoft's expansion into the controller-less world of entertainment.

Mr Johnson will survey possible futures for interactive entertainment and the opportunities and challenges these pose for the gaming industry.
