Late-night dog walk turns into rescue drama
The man, who has not been named, was with his pet in Arbroath, Angus, when they were cut off by the tide.
Lifeboats were launched after a friend called the coastguard. The man was treated by ambulance crews on the shore at Arbroath.

Hide AdA spokesman from Forth coastguard station said: "We were called out at 12:30pm to assist a man who had been cut off while on the rocks.
"The inshore and all-weather lifeboats were launched from Arbroath and a coastguard team from Carnoustie rescued the man, who was then taken to a waiting ambulance."
The dog was taken to a vet in Forfar to be checked over.
