Large blaze guts building

A LARGE fire has ripped through a two-storey disused building at Greendykes Industrial Estate, Broxburn.

More than 40 firefighters fought the blaze at the Scotyre International building last night.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: "The firefighting operation was particularly difficult due to an unstable roof and a number of gas cylinders being stored in the premises. We are still trying to establish the cause of the fire."

No-one was injured but the property was badly damaged.
