Landmarks think pink in cancer drive

Some of the city's best-known landmarks will be bathed in pink light tonight to mark the launch of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Castle's Gatehouse, the Camera Obscura, The Hub, the Bank of Scotland on the Mound and the Balmoral Hotel will be among those taking part in the first Scottish launch of the campaign this year.

The launch at Edinburgh Castle will bring together breast cancer survivors, fundraisers, volunteers and representatives from Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Breast Cancer Care, and the Scottish Breast Cancer Campaign.

Nicola Sturgeon will host the first in a series of events throughout October to raise awareness and funds.
