Lady Provost has a high old time in charity effort

THE 73-year-old Lady Provost of Edinburgh, Elizabeth Grubb, showed she's still enjoys a challenge as she abseiled 165ft from the Forth Bridge.

Mrs Grubb was accompanied on the charity stunt yesterday by her daughter Mhairi, 45, and her two grandsons Andrew, 18, and Grant, 16.

The plan was to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity Queensferry Churches Care in the Community (QCCC), which provided care for her late mother. In fact it was such a family affair, that Mrs Grubb took a picture of her mother with her on the jump.

Mrs Grubb's husband, Lord Provost George Grubb, was watching with his feet firmly on the ground.

Participants had committed to raise at least 150 each for the charity.

QCCC provides quality support services to older people.
