Labour wins Greens party MP's backing

Australia's Labour Party yesterday won the backing of a Green MP in its attempt to form the country's first minority government in nearly 70 years.

Greens party member Adam Bandt is the first of five MPs from outside the major parties to announce which side he will back following the 21 August elections, which ended with no party winning a majority.
