Kosovo government thrown out in vote

Kosovo's parliament voted out prime minister Hashim Thaci's government in a no-confidence motion yesterday, paving the way for new elections.

The assembly voted 66-1 to bring down Mr Thaci's government, which declared independence from Serbia in 2008, and to dissolve parliament. The election date has been set as 12 December.
