Knockhill hosts first wedding on race track

IT was a case of congratulations to the bride and vroom.

Guests gather on the start grid for the wedding.

The Knockhill race track witnessed a first today as fans celebrated the wedding between Stevie Goldie and his bride Cheryl on the start line.

Some 250 wedding guests were invited which added to the 2000 fans who were there for Scottish Ford Live. Stevie is a regular at Knockhill and races his BMW.

The wedding was coordinated by Event Team member Rory Butcher.

He said: “We get a lot of requests for so many things, but a wedding on the grid is a first. We are so pleased to have hosted it and the feedback from the couple and all the wedding party has been fantastic too. Stevie is one of most active drivers on track, so it was a pleasure to help them with their special day – truly memorable and unique too”
