Knock, knock, who's there? Book now to find out

PLANS to stage an intimate Fringe show in the flats of festival-goers have stalled due to a lack of bookings.

Instead, a staff member at the Underbelly venue has agreed to host a string of early performances of The Lounge Room Confabulators - a huge hit at festivals in Australia - in their home.

And individual tickets for performances in the first week of the Festival have been put on sale, despite initial hopes that all the shows would be staged in flats across the city.

Just two actors perform in the much-hyped show, which is described as "a masterful mix of gothic and comic". It begins when the pair knock on the host's front door. At least ten audience members are needed for an exclusive performance, but not enough bookings have been made to fill the first week of slots.

A spokesman for Underbelly said: "What we've had is a lot of visitors to the city trying to book tickets for three or four people.

"We have had other bookings for large groups so far, but they have not sold out yet. We expect it to be a word-of-mouth thing once the show actually starts."
