Knitwear firm to open new factory

A SCOTS textile firm is bucking the trend by expanding its workforce and opening a new factory.

Hawick Knitwear managing director Benny Hartop said the company had landed what was described as a "fairly big order".

As a result they were taking on half a dozen extra workers in Hawick and an additional 14 in Galashiels.
