Knife robbers take laptop and cash from cafe worker

A CAFE worker was threatened with a knife by two men and forced to hand over a laptop and cash.

Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery at the Moo Cafe, in Canonmills, yesterday afternoon.

Two men walked into the Brandon Terrace cafe at 5.30pm, and demanded the computer that was behind the counter. They then made off towards Canonmills.

The first suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 6ins tall with a slim build, pale skin and brown hair. He was dressed all in black, with a black zipped cardigan.

The second suspect is also around 5ft 6ins tall with a slim build. He was wearing a blue hooded top and carrying a brown re-useable Tesco bag.

A police spokesman said: "We are eager to locate the men responsible for this robbery and given the time of the day which the incident occurred, there is potentially a number of witnesses who were in the area of the caf, or in Canonmills who may have information that can assist with our enquiries.

"Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who recognises the suspects and can help us identify them is asked to contact police immediately."
