Knife carrier says sorry

A MAN caught with a blade in public apologised to police for his stupidity.

Robert Johnston claimed he’d forgotten to take the fishing knife out of his pocket. He told officers: “I’m sorry for being stupid.”.

Johnston, 30, was searched after police were called to an unconnected incident near his home in Westfield, West Lothian.

Sheriff Kenneth Hogg adjourned the case for background reports and warned Johnston that he faced a jail sentence.
