Knife attacker jailed

A KNIFEMAN who stabbed a pub-goer after provoking a brawl was jailed for two years.

Drunken Brian Hughes walked into a pub and took a Celtic badge off the noticeboard and kissed it. Then he shouted at customers "You're all orange", Livingston Sheriff Court was told.

When local Nicolas Balic took exception to his taunts Hughes took out a knife and stabbed him.

Hughes, 34, from Armadale, pled guilty on indictment to assaulting Mr Balic to his injury in the pub on April 29.
