King crowns Tattoo with historic visit

THE king of Jordan and his wife, Queen Rania, brought some royal glamour to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo last night.

His Majesty King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of Jordan was welcomed by Major General David Shaw and Tattoo chief executive Major General Euan Loudon, and took the salute. Members of the Jordanian Armed Forces contingent are taking part in the event this year.

The visit was the first by a Middle East sovereign to the Tattoo.
