Killer handed jail term for cocaine supply

A CONVICTED killer has been jailed for eight years after he was convicted of being a cocaine baron.

Bernard Flanagan was responsible for handling an estimated 2 million worth of the Class 'A' drug.

During the trial at the High Court in Livingston, witnesses told how a police operation spied on couriers and dealers as they took cocaine between locations in Scotland and England. The jury found Flanagan, 24, of Bonnyrigg, guilty of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Passing sentence yesterday, Lord Doherty told Flanagan he had been convicted of a very serious charge. Flanagan was jailed for three years for culpable homicide in 2004 after he admitted killing welder Christopher O'Donnell, 23, with a single punch in an argument over a taxi queue
