Kids engineer event success

THREE teams from George Heriot's have enjoyed success in an engineering competition.

The pupils all took part in the 2011 West Point Bridge Contest, which allowed S1-S3 students from Scotland to become engineers, using software to design and load-test a bridge. First year pupils David Angus and Rory McDougall were the third placed Heriot's team, while Douglas Wyllie and Euan Gribbon were the second placed team. Second year pupils Innes Brown and Fergus Brown were the top Heriot's team and achieved an overall 19th place out of 219.
